Fuzzhead

Fuzzhead is a next-generation security tool designed to provide holistic, full-stack protection for the Horizen ecosystem. After successfully developing a foundational proof-of-concept for the Mina blockchain, our focus has shifted to addressing the unique and complex security challenges of Horizen's privacy-preserving architecture.

Standard EVM fuzzers are unequipped to analyze the novel attack surfaces introduced by zero-knowledge (ZK) circuits and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). Fuzzhead confronts this challenge with a specialized, three-pronged analysis that covers the entire Horizen stack:

• Application Layer: Robust fuzzing for EVM smart contracts written in Solidity to eliminate common on-chain vulnerabilities.
• Cryptographic Layer: A specialized fuzzer for ZK circuits in Circom and Noir, designed to find deep logic bugs that are invisible to traditional tools.
• Protocol Layer: A unique engine that tests the interaction between the node software and the op-enclave within AWS Nitro TEEs, securing Horizen's core state transition mechanism.

By providing this multi-layered analysis, Fuzzhead serves as a piece of foundational infrastructure to de-risk development, build developer confidence, and accelerate the creation of secure and reliable private applications on Horizen.
